Reviews for Director Laurence Connor, Joseph at the London Palladium and UK Tour
Go go go Joseph! Director Laurence Connor’s revival of Joseph and the Amazing Technicolour Dreamcoat opened at The London Palladium on 1st July, 2021. This dazzling revival, which brings the much loved musical back into the spotlight has made its return to the West End and will run until September.
Laurence’s direction has been highly praised by critics.
‘This is uplifting, glittering entertainment, entirely worthy of the London Palladium, and what was previously an endearing spectacular has become something to utterly love’ – WhatsOnStage
‘Laurence Connor's buoyant revival of Lloyd Webber and Tim Rice's Biblical musical charmed audiences back in 2019, and remains an absolute winner. Connor, who also collaborated with Lloyd Webber on School of Rock and Cinderella, understands how to balance the heart and the sublime silliness of Joseph’ – London Theatre
‘Director Laurence Connor doesn’t take the show seriously, playing up the camp and…filling the vast stage with animatronic camels, golden pyramids, some huge dance numbers and more colour than Joseph’s dreamcoat. Theatre, as they say on Twitter, is back and it’s never been more fun’ – Attitude
